SUMMARY:City of Gods
DESCRIPTION:Photo Exhibition “City of Gods” \nDion is an historical archeological park\, located near the city of Katerini\, on the Olympian plain\, located between Mount Olympus and the Aegean Sea. The first psychographic sketches of most of my “Olympian” works were done in a Moleskin notebook while sitting among the ruins of temples of Dion. Dion was the ancient spiritual capital of the Macedonian Empire. I found the city’s design extremely resembling to that of central segments of Saint Petersburg. Peter the Great had ordered that Saint Petersburg be built according to geometric parameters of the spiritual capitals of antiquity. \nWith this thought in mind\, I found myself browsing the details of the vast Saint Petersburg region\, full of interesting stories of how first settlements had occurred. Eventually\, having established a contact with “Galereya Puteshestviy” (“Gallery of Travels”) in the city of Vyborg\, an idea for a joint project was born. Thus\, during the month of May the Gallery featured my photo–exhibition on the places of power in Dion – The City of Gods.Click here for a full 360º virtual tour of the exhibition.
